SEND Support
EARLY YEARS DROP-IN
Here at SGPC we are all parent carers, so we truly understand the challenges and joys of raising a child with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
If you are concerned about your child’s early development or need help navigating your child’s disability, you can drop in to our Early Years SEND support session at the PATCHWAY FAMILY HUB in the Patchway Children’s Centre on a Wednesday between 10am-11.30pm (term time only), to get support from our Peer Support Team.
These relaxed and friendly support sessions offer a safe space where your voice and experiences will be heard. Our Peer Support Team can:
Share ideas and effective strategies to help you become more confident in identifying and supporting your child’s needs
Signpost you to services that may be beneficial to your family
Offer useful information around key transitions such as starting school
Provide a listening ear over a cuppa
These weekly drop-in support sessions are also a great opportunity to connect with others in similar situations and share information and experiences. There will be toys available for your child to play with, but please can we remind you that you are responsible for supervising your own children at all times.
