Little Treasures

EARLY YEARS STAY AND PLAY GROUP

Little Treasures is our weekly SEND-friendly stay and play support group which you can register to attend with your young child (aged 0-5 years) to enjoy play and sensory activities while receiving support from our Early Years Team.

These relaxed and friendly sessions offer a safe, accessible space where your child is free to be themselves and you can share with others and be listened to and supported.

Our Early Years Team are here to:

  • Encourage your child’s creativity and expression

  • Support your child’s individual communication

  • Share ideas and information with you to help you become more confident in supporting your child’s needs

To avoid the children becoming overwhelmed, the numbers at sessions are small, with the same families going along each week. This means that you can connect with others in similar situations to talk and share information and experiences and start to build your support network.

“Through Little Treasures we became more confident, we tried new things, visited new places – the world opened up for us again.”

What does a Little Treasures session look like?

  • Free play with sensory toys and experiences

  • Crafts

  • Games

  • Soft play pieces

  • Bubbles

  • Accessible outside space

  • Child and parent support from our Early Years Team

  • Tea/coffee for parents

“The support has been absolutely fantastic. I felt so alone before I found Little Treasures and it has given me the chance to get to know other families like mine and more importantly I have met life long friends. I was so scared of life before Little Treasures but now I feel like we can do anything like any other family.”

“SGPC and Little Treasures have connected me with the people I now talk to every day. Their support has helped me let go of the parent I thought I’d be, and be the parent my children need me to be. I couldn’t be more grateful.”

“Little Treasures gave my son a safe place to play without being judged for his disabilities. I can confidently say my son gained most of his social skills at Little Treasures; it was the first time I saw him acknowledge another child. All because the adults there made us feel at home which eroded his inhibitions.”
