THE ROLE

This role is primarily working with families at our Early Years stay-and-play groups in the community and at Our Community Base to assist with providing a safe and supportive environment with fun activities for children who have SEND and offering support to their families.

In this role, you’ll connect with families of children and young people aged 0-25 with identified or emerging additional needs and disabilities.

Working as an essential part of our team, you’ll strengthen community links by engaging with Parent Carers, listening to their views, and offering support and signposting. You’ll also help facilitate information sessions, both online and in person, creating safe spaces where families can share experiences and work together to shape services.

ABOUT US

South Glos Parent Carers CIC (SGPC) is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company whose passion lies in working with parent carers of children 0-25, with special educational needs and/or disabilities, living in South Gloucestershire.  

We are the recognised Parent Carer Forum in South Gloucestershire and are members of the South West Region Parent Carer Forum and the National Network of Parent Carer Forums. 

The Parent Carer Forum gathers Parent Carers’ views and represents them when we work in partnership with local service providers. Community feedback provides valuable data to embed co-production in service development in education, health, and social care in South Gloucestershire.

TERMS/CONDITIONS

Start Date: As soon as possible.  

Duration of Contract:  Permanent contract (this post is subject to future funding)

Type of contract: Term-time

Probationary Period: Six months.

Salary:  £12.45 per hour

Annual salary: £8329.05 (paid as 12 monthly payments of £694.09)

Hours of Work: This is a part-time role, 15 hours a week over 3 days.

Location: Your main place of work will be at Our Community Base in Kingswood. You will also be working at various Early Years settings in Warmley, Yate and Patchway.

Holidays: Statutory 5.6 weeks annual holiday entitlement including Public/Bank Holidays to be taken during school holidays
