Keira

At SGPC, we love to share the amazing things that go on in our hugely supportive and understanding community.

Sadly, for reasons that we can’t fathom, we are faced with devastating news that needs time to process and reflect on.

At the beginning of February, we received the terrible news that a very special little girl had passed away.

Keira was one of our much-loved Little Treasures, leaving our group in 2024 to begin primary school alongside her big brother.

Keira was one of our much-loved Little Treasures, leaving our group in 2024 to begin primary school alongside her big brother.

We needed to pay tribute to this awesome, inspiring little girl who touched the hearts of everyone she encountered at SGPC, and for a minute, talk about how truly wonderful she was.

At our Little Treasure sessions, we missed Keira when she went off to ‘big school’ but we loved to hear how she was doing from her Nana and her first day picture made us all have a little tear. Not of sadness, but of joy at how far this little girl had come and she was rocking it!

Keira didn’t say hi, she bum-wiggled at you first. She had the best smile and laughed wholeheartedly, giving it everything. She loved fiercely and talked about her family…lots! She checked in with where they all were frequently, her reassurance that all was good in her world.

She cared deeply, making sure that the children around her were happy and noticing at once if someone wasn’t, keen to offer around the biscuits, making sure everyone had one (or two, one for each hand).

Back to the bum-wiggling, all at Little Treasures knew we were in her gang when we got our first wiggle, they took time to earn but then abundant, silently telling us she was happy to see us.

Keira made your heart feel full, re-energised and that life truly was amazing, literally sprinkling stardust on your day. She achieved things her family were told were impossible, all at the same time as giving so much joy and love to everyone around her. Unwittingly, just doing her thing and being Keira. She was sunshine, rainbows and shiny stars all mixed up into one little bundle of a girl.

At SGPC, we were honoured to have lived in Keira’s world in a very small way, she was a Little Treasure we will never forget. Each and every one of us are sending love to her family at such a heartbreaking time.
