360° Outreach Project for Schools and Families Term 5

Our 360° Outreach project supports schools and families working together to build a picture of the “whole child” and better understand the child’s needs.

Our peer support team visit participating schools, running coffee support sessions where families are able to find out more about SGPC and the support that is available to them locally as well as connecting with other families within their own school community.

Both staff and families from the participating schools also have access to a series of online workshops. These workshops are run over Zoom and generally last around 1 hour 20 minutes. Each starts with an introduction to the topic from the trainer, and there’s always plenty of time to discuss any questions which come up on the day.

What’s on This Term

A 360° Approach to Mental Health and Neurodiversity

Tuesday 7th May at 7:00pm

Are you navigating understanding and living with a diagnosis of being neurodiverse or awaiting to be assessed? Do you want to understand more about this and find ways to support your child or young person?

This workshop will be led by Tracy Bowyer from the ADHD Foundation and will give comprehensive information about Neurodiverse conditions (Autism, ADHD, DCD/ Dyspraxia, Dyslexia) in children and young people and the struggles they may experience.

Coffee Support Sessions

Your child doesn't need to have a diagnosis for you to be able to attend the Coffee Support session. In fact, a coffee event is an ideal way to find out what support is available at each stage of your journey and to meet some friendly faces and know you are not alone.

All our coffee support sessions will begin with a short presentation, followed by an opportunity to chat with our peer support team.

This term, the focus of our Coffee Support sessions will be preparing for moving up school years as we know that at this time of year many families are schools are starting to prepare children for the move to a new class or even a new school or collage. However as with all sessions, there is time after the presentation to discuss your individual situation and any other issues you are facing.
